Guro Øren Skei

Operations Manager

Guro Øren Skei is The Collaborative’s Operations Manager. She draws on experience across philanthropy, project management, risk, and technology to strengthen operations, solve problems, and maximise social impact. Her focus on technology and human rights, paired with her curiosity and drive to find better ways to work, helps the organisation navigate a rapidly changing field to serve the public interest.

Prior to joining The Collaborative, she was the lead project manager for Philanthropy Partnerships at the Founders Pledge, helping to streamline internal operations and working directly with external philanthropists to translate their needs to internal teams. Her support across multiple teams contributed to stronger philanthropy partnerships.

Guro holds an MSc in Security Risk Management, with a focus on the intersection between cyber security, tech, and humanitarian aid. She has experience as a Researcher in Cyber Threat Intelligence for Control Risks and has worked with human rights organisations and large multi-lateral organisations, including work in France, Belgium, and Lebanon.

“I grew up in a family where curiosity for new technology, the world, and making things better were all topics around the dinner table. When I first came across The Collaborative, it seemed like a great fit – not just being part of building a new organisation, (very exciting!) but also the topic, the cutting-edge of AI, and how it intersects with society at large as well as individuals.”
