Marda Joins Collaborative
Martin Tisné ·
I am so pleased to welcome Vidushi Marda to the AI Collaborative. Vidushi has joined us as our Director of Ecosystem Building, and she will be responsible for establishing and sustaining connections, relationships, and partnerships with key stakeholders globally who share our commitment to seize the current window of opportunity to regulate AI in the public interest.
Vidushi has a unique ability to see the big picture in what can be messy situations and a distinctive skill and approach to seeing the world in all its complexity. She also brings a sense of deep integrity to her approach and engagement with stakeholders, which makes her a perfect fit for this role. I could not be more thrilled to have her on the team.
In her new role, Vidushi will serve the efforts of the Collaborative and the broader AI community by identifying and fostering opportunities for collaboration, sharing, and partnership among civil society organizations and networks, socio-technical communities, multi-stakeholder initiatives, and funders.
Vidushi is a human rights lawyer with more than a decade of experience working on technology policy, law, and infrastructure across multiple jurisdictions. She joins us from REAL ML, a global non-profit she co-founded to empower a global community of interdisciplinary practitioners to challenge the unjust application of technologies. Prior to REAL ML, Vidushi established and led ARTICLE 19’s (A19) inaugural international AI portfolio, where she helped A19’s global and regional teams engage with AI policy and research in a contextualized, relevant manner, and she regularly provided counsel and input into draft UN resolutions on privacy, biometrics, and AI. Vidushi has produced pioneering research on AI and brings to the Collaborative a unique blend of AI expertise in contextual realities, global governance, and technical standards.
Vidushi has consulted with a wide range of actors from civil society, government, industry, and academia. Her work has been published in various peer-reviewed academic journals, cited by multiple authorities including the Supreme Court of India, and her thought leadership has been featured in outlets such The Guardian, The Financial Times, and Time Magazine, among others.
Vidushi, welcome to the AI Collaborative!
